We have been a leading figure in publishing for more than 500 years. We have always been a forward-looking organization, maximizing the technology for the day, but the digital revolution is bringing enormous change, fast. That same spirit of adventure and entrepreneurialism is critical to our future success. In a fast-changing publishing landscape, OUP welcomes the inquisitive, the inventive, and the ambitious; people who challenge the conventional, and pioneer the possible.
About the Role
This presents a great opportunity for an inquisitive, innovative individual looking to make their mark within an exciting area of our English Language Teaching product offer. You’ll work across multiple projects within primary, secondary and adult learning with an array of OUP colleagues. Key responsibilities include:
Define and create clear, competitively advantaged customer value proposition for the ELT portfolio, including USPs, product positioning, and key sales messages
Work with the Product Portfolio Managers to enhance the proposition for the customer and to ensure that products are aligned to the value proposition, and positioning strategies
Define marketing strategy for key international product launches
Define product-agnostic sector-based marketing plans designed to support customers and promote your designated segment portfolios
Define impact and detailed messaging, boiler-plate and on-product copy into the Product Training Manual and appropriate bibliographic repository
Coordinate appropriate research (to be carried out by the research team)
Manage designated budget.
We are currently thinking through how we use our offices in the future and are open to discussing flexibility within this such as a blend of office and home working. We expect this role to require approximately 1-2 days per week in the Oxford office.

The ability to work in a changing environment and eagerness to learn
Proven experience of multi-tasking and working across different projects
Proven experience of stakeholder management, with the ability to manage expectations and maintain good relations at all times
Experience in developing marketing plans
Familiar with marketing fundamentals (use of data, KPIs, customer lifecycle, customer journey)
It would be an advantage if a candidate had the following but not required to be considered for the role:
Professional marketing qualification
Experience and/or knowledge of the educational sector, ideally in relation to teaching and learning materials
ELT background and/or language learning marketing experience.
