Network Delivery Manager

Global Technology is headed up by our new Chief Information Officer, providing successful technology services across our business. We use state of the art technologies and businesses like; Facebook, Apple, Google and Microsoft all use our content for their translation services.

About the role

The Network Delivery Manager is responsible for the entire data network & voice infrastructure for Oxford University Press. This incorporates wide area network, local area network, Wi-Fi, Cloud, and Voice (customer service centre and skype online) technologies. This Network Delivery Manager is a proactive role of Data & Voice networks encompassing both technical & service activity and managing outsourced service providers.

The role will also be responsible for…

  • Successfully providing technical direction such as the choice of tools and/or technology, and the process to ensure these technologies maximise business value.
  • Develop and maintain an effective relationship with teams across the IT organisation internally, but also external stakeholders.
  • Provide regular reports on service performance and achievement to Head of IT Infrastructure & review Service Level Agreement targets and metrics where necessary.
  • Develop, implement and maintain a culture and framework for innovation and pro-actively improve Infrastructure services.
  • Define, deliver and manage the approach to Network Asset Management and licence management.

About you

The successful candidate will…

  • Have previous experience of leading end to end Technology development and service organisations
  • Be able to communicate with confidence at all levels to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Have experience and understanding of Cloud, AWS & Azure networking.
  • Have proven experience in operationally supporting enterprise networks.
  • Strong deep understanding of networking technologies, routing switching, wireless, security, cloud environments and Network optimisation.
  • Very strong Network Engineering skills in Routing, Switching, Wireless, Security and Cloud.
  • Thrive in a high-pressurised environment, with the ability to manage conflicts and crises if they arise.
  • Adept in figuring out processes necessary to get things done


We care about work/life balance here at OUP; with this, in mind we offer 25 days’ holiday (plus bank holidays), and a 35-hour working week, along with the flexibility to start and finish late or early as required.

Our pension contribution is up to 11%. This role also comes with an additional benefit of a management bonus scheme.
