Technical Delivery Lead

About the Role

Working within a fast paced environment you’ll be empowered to work independently on your own projects whilst being part of a collaborative team. You’ll be responsible for end-to-end delivery of product applications and platforms, from concept to service including development and maintenance capability and the effective use of modern development practices and tools such as agile software development and DevOps practices. This includes managing internal teams and overseeing partnerships with commercial suppliers that provide application development.

You’ll work closely with product managers, product owners, architecture teams, development teams as well as other stakeholders, to specify, estimate, enhance and implement products that enable OUP’s business strategy, meet expected standards, and deliver a consistent experience to OUP’s customers and users. You will take overall responsibility the successful delivery focusing on quality, cost/budget, engineering rigour, standards alignment and compliance, supplier and resource selection and performance.

We operate a hybrid working policy that requires a minimum of 2 days per week in the Oxford office.

You’ll be a strong team player who is committed to continuous improvement. To be successful you will also have:

Essential:

  • Experience of shaping, advising on, and delivering products solutions to required quality within agreed budget and timescales
  • A proven ability to deliver technical solutions and enhancements to those solutions
  • Domain knowledge and experience in digital products
  • Knowledge of development methodologies including Agile development
  • Experience of managing external suppliers, negotiating costs and service levels
  • Ability to influence and work collaboratively with stakeholders at all levels of seniority
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and emerging situations
  • Confidence to use own evaluation and judgment to select course of action.

Desirable:

  • Digital publishing product knowledge
  • Agile certification.
